Research freezers store valuable, often irreplaceable materials that can be lost if power fails during unattended times. To prevent such losses, Risk Management recommends steps like ensuring reliable power, organizing and backing up samples, using remote monitoring, maintaining inventories, and having emergency plans in place. Prevention is the best protection.

Through collaboration and relationship building, Risk Management has been able to provide hands-on learning opportunities for two courses offered by Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa. The spark for this collaboration started in 2019 when Berry-Stoelze contacted Risk Management. Since then, students have been able to explore topics in claims handling and risk management.

Beginning Nov. 1, all vehicle incidents involving University of Iowa vehicles may be reported online in Employee Self Service or MyUI.
